There's suddenly quite alot more children's home than there was, about a hundred tons more of it in fact! Since the floods last year action has been desperately needed to keep the water away from the buildings and to raise the pathways, so cue many large vehicles and much activity moving and leveling earth. On first arrival it might have looked like the builders of Angkor Wat were at it again with big dreams but short term only creating very large obstacles for pedestrians!
But after some serious work (and yes, machinery other than Titus's mattock was involved!) the point of this massive earth-moving soon becomes apparent
and Newhope's flood defences begin to take shape. let's hope that this year they will not be needed and that the project is blessed with a good rice harvest to help fund it's further development enabling it to help more children.
